The Notebooks of Maggie A
Part Ten

When American President George W. Bush assessed Russian President Vladimir Putin, Bush said, "I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue" and "I was able to get a sense of his soul," so Bush came to the conclusion, "The more I get to know President Putin the more I get to see his heart and soul, and the more I know we can work together in a positive way." Putin, who no doubt thinks of himself as a pretty good guy doing what he has to do, has people tortured, murdered, and invades other countries because of his own deep-seated psychological issues. Naturally Bush approved of Putin..........we tend to like people who are like ourselves and share the same values.

Have you ever noticed when someone who says they care about you is telling you honestly about yourself they never mention any good qualities you have, only the bad ones?

According to Christians, their God loves everyone unconditionally. Except you must worship their God by accepting Him as your savior or He'll send you to hell where you will burn in a lake of fire for all eternity..............All I can say is Christians have a strange definition of "unconditional" and an even stranger definition of "love."

After a hurricane you find out who your good neighbors are. You also find out who really cares about you. Because if you've been through a major disaster and someone doesn't bother to check on you, they're merely acquaintances no matter what relationship you thought you had.

Democracy is tyranny of the masses. As a minority and a lifelong holder of minority opinions, I prefer a republic. Because, a republic, if it works properly, is supposed to have limits which are inviolable and those limits are supposed to protect the minority and the powerless against the powerful, whether it's the teeming masses, the current government or the ones who think they've bought the government.

Ignorance is curable. Stupidity isn't.*
*excluding death which may be a cure to the rest of us, but isn't so great for the person.

Animal, beast.........these are some of the names we call people who've done something
particularly heinous. I think it's an insult ----- to animals. Animals, pond scum, vermin,'s all a vital part of the ecosystem. I think people like that should be referred to as toxic waste, as in nuclear waste. Dangerous, should be put away forever in a deep hole, and useless.

There are cases reported in medical journals of men attempting to have vaginal intercourse who end up inserting their penises not into the woman's vagina, but into her urethra. This is not a one time incident for these men but is a repeated mistake. Leading me to ask....................just how lost does a man have to be before he'll stop and ask for directions?

If there's another Earth-like planet out there, keep us the hell away from it. Look at what we did to this one. Frankly, I'm not sure if we should even be setting foot upon this solar system's two water moons because look at what we did to our oceans.

It's strange to me that we've become a society that buries our pets close but our family at a distance.
